We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Inbound/Outbound Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. This vital role involves safely operating heavy equipment to efficiently load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of warehouse operations, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols to ensure smooth distribution processes. LOOKING FOR DAY-TIME 7AM-3PM FORKLIFT OPERATOR, OVERTIME AS NEEDED
Duties
- Safely operate various types of forklifts including reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks to load and unload shipments
- Manage inbound shipments by verifying delivery accuracy, inspecting cargo, and recording receipt details in the warehouse management system (WMS)
- Execute outbound order picking with precision using order picker equipment and ensure timely dispatch of goods
- Maintain proper stacking and storage of materials on pallets or racks, adhering to safety standards and warehouse layout plans
- Conduct routine equipment inspections, perform basic repairs or notify maintenance for mechanical issues to minimize downtime
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes by preparing freight for shipment, labeling packages correctly, and documenting all movements accurately
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing materials handling tasks efficiently while following OSHA safety guidelines
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks in a warehouse setting
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures
- Familiarity with order picking techniques and materials handling best practices
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs or troubleshooting as needed
- Understanding of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety protocols
- Excellent basic math skills for inventory counting and measurement tasks
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving or warehouse distribution is highly desirable
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment while lifting heavy loads regularly
