Key Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end import clearance for all incoming shipments into Ivory Coast
Ensure full compliance with local customs regulations, import policies, and duty structures
Build and maintain strong relationships with clearing agents, port authorities, and government bodies
Validate shipping documents and secure conformity certificates, inspections, and regulatory approvals
Coordinate with the Dubai office on shipment status, clearance updates, claims, and discrepancies
Lead and manage the local team (Clearance Officers, Documentation Executives, Port Coordinators)
Minimize demurrage, detention, and port storage costs
Handle port disputes, shortages, and damages; liaise with insurers and shipping lines as required
Provide real-time shipment updates and weekly KPI reports to Dubai leadership
Ensure all company licenses and certifications remain valid and up to date

Ideal Candidate Profile

6+ years of experience in West African import and customs operations
Strong knowledge of customs procedures, port operations, HS codes, and duty structures
Established relationships with customs officials, clearing agents, and port operators
Experience managing local operational teams in Africa
Exposure to agricultural chemicals, bulk shipments, and in-transit/road cargo preferred
Fluent in French and English (both mandatory)
High integrity, strong negotiation skills, and ability to work independently in challenging environments
