Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Hydrovac Operator to join our dynamic construction team at our new office. In this role, you will be responsible for operating hydrovac trucks to safely and efficiently excavate around utilities, structures, and infrastructure on various construction sites. Your expertise will help ensure precise excavation, minimize damage, and support the successful completion of complex projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with heavy equipment in a fast-paced environment while contributing to critical infrastructure development.
Responsibilities
- Operate hydrovac trucks with precision, ensuring safe excavation around underground utilities and structures.
- Conduct thorough site assessments to determine the best excavation techniques and safety measures.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on hydrovac equipment and other heavy machinery such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, and dump trucks.
- Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate excavation activities and ensure project timelines are met.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures related to heavy equipment operation, construction site safety, and environmental regulations.
- Assist with other heavy equipment operations including horizontal drilling, tanker handling, paving, and site preparation as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, equipment inspections, and safety checks to ensure compliance with company standards.
Experience
- Proven experience operating hydrovac trucks in a construction or utility setting.
- Mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment such as excavators (including Caterpillar models), dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, and dump trucks.
- Prior experience working on construction sites with familiarity in excavation techniques around underground utilities.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in operating large vehicles safely.
- Knowledge of horizontal drilling processes and tanker operations is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with oil and gas projects or other infrastructure-related construction activities is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and construction environments. Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 – $31.00 per hour

- Hydro-Excavation: 1 year (Required)
- CMV Driving: 2 years (Required)
