Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Hydraulic Fitter to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot hydraulic systems on a fleet of heavy plant equipment. The role focuses on ensuring maximum uptime and reliability in a busy workshop environment, with occasional site call-outs.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic faults on equipment such as excavators, TLBs, loaders, and dumpers
- Strip, assess, and rebuild hydraulic components (cylinders, pumps, valves, motors)
- Manufacture and replace hydraulic hoses and fittings
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics and manuals
- Complete job cards and maintain accurate service records
- Assist with breakdowns in the workshop and on-site when required
- Follow all safety procedures and standards
Requirements
- Trade Test Certificate (Hydraulic Fitter / Fitter & Turner / Diesel Mechanic with hydraulic experience)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with hydraulic systems on heavy plant or construction equipment
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently
- Valid driver’s license
Working Conditions
- Workshop-based with occasional site work
- Physically demanding role
- Overtime and standby may be required
