HSE Coordinator

Are you proactive, detail-driven and passionate about driving safety compliance in operational environments? Join our Networks team as an HSE Coordinator in North West, Potchefstroom/Klerksdorp, where you’ll work closely with the HSE Officer to strengthen compliance, reduce risk exposure and embed a strong health and safety culture across the business.

The key purpose of this role is to support and coordinate Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) compliance activities within the assigned area, ensuring adherence to legislation, internal standards and operational safety requirements.

What you’ll do:

• Provide Management with advice and support on all Health and Safety matters
• Track regulatory changes that may impact the business and ensure compliance
• Conduct Health and Safety incident and accident investigations and report findings
• Plan and design audits to assess risk exposure and ensure legislative compliance
• Inspect workplace environments, equipment and practices to ensure safety standards are met
• Develop, implement and improve Health and Safety risk controls and working practices
• Ensure all safety procedures, policies and rules are adhered to
• Ensure risk assessments are completed for every site worked on by technicians
• Manage Health and Safety documentation and administration in line with procedures
• Deliver safety training and toolbox talks to employees
• Follow up on risk assessments and ensure documentation is completed correctly
• Ensure employees are fully aware of Health and Safety requirements
• Prevent workplace incidents by ensuring compliance with all safety standards
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date Health and Safety records and paperwork
• Ensure each team within the area implements the correct OHS systems and integrates OHS into MOS
• Execute additional Health and Safety tasks as required by Management

What you’ll need:

• Relevant Health and Safety qualifications or certifications
• Thorough understanding of Occupational Health and Safety legislation in South Africa
• First Aid qualification
• Proven Health and Safety experience
• High attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking ability
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• A methodical and accurate approach to work
• Ability to work independently
• Strong commitment to Health and Safety principles and compliance
