About the Role
POSITION: HOTEL MAINTENANCE MANAGER
REPORTS TO: CORPORATE CHIEF ENGINEER
POSITION SUMMARY
Maintenance Manager
Role Summary: Oversees the upkeep of hotel facilities, coordinates repairs, and supervises maintenance staff to ensure high operational standards are always maintained.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all facilities are in excellent working condition.
- Develop and implement maintenance programs to prevent equipment and facility breakdowns.
- Manage a team of maintenance staff who are responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the property.
- Keep up to date with industry best practices to ensure that the facility is efficient and environmentally friendly.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities performed.
- Coordinate with various departments and contractors to ensure that all maintenance issues are addressed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Create budgets for planned and unplanned maintenance expenses and monitor spending to ensure they are within budget.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any maintenance needs before they become larger problems.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with guests, staff, and service providers.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 7 years' experience in hotel maintenance operation OR experience in Chief Engineer or a related field.
Required Skills
- Strong technical skills and management in areas such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general facility maintenance.
- Leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
- Familiarity with maintenance software and systems.
