The Dorm Hotel is a boutique hotel near Collegetown in Ithaca, NY that values experience above all else and is designed for guests who want an affordable yet luxurious feel. We pride ourselves on being a friendly and welcoming place for people to stay when visiting Cornell campus or Ithaca itself, and we want to make sure that our guests always have a pleasant stay.
We’re currently looking for a housekeeper to work various weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays in a full time capacity, as well as during high-capacity weeks such as Cornell move-in and graduation. As a housekeeper you’d be responsible for keeping the rooms and common areas clean up to our standards, as well as washing sheets as needed.
Job requirements:
- Flexibility to work weekends and/or holidays if needed
- Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred (but not always required)
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Reliability and punctuality
- Good communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and checklists
- Respect for privacy and confidentiality
- Ability to lift 20 lbs frequently and without assistance
- Able to climb flights of stairs, reach and bend
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented work performance
- Maintain a friendly, caring and professional demeanor
