Head of Electricity Sales
The Head of Electricity Sales is a senior leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and managing strategic client relationships within the electricity sector. This role requires a commercially astute leader with strong technical expertise and a proven track record in energy or engineering sales.
About the Role
You will lead the electricity sales function, developing and executing strategies to grow the business, secure new opportunities, and strengthen key partnerships across municipal, commercial, and industrial markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with overall business objectives
- Lead, mentor, and manage the electricity sales team to meet and exceed revenue targets
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across municipal, commercial, and industrial sectors
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners
- Collaborate with technical and project teams to develop client-focused proposals and tender submissions
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to identify growth opportunities
- Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation to contract award and project handover
- Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates to executive leadership
- Represent the company at industry events, forums, and conferences
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or a related qualification
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in technical or engineering sales
- At least 3 years in a senior or leadership role
- Strong understanding of electricity infrastructure, grid solutions, or energy services
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding B2B sales targets
- Experience working with municipalities, utilities, or government entities
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in tenders and proposal development
- Valid South African driver’s licence
