Job Title: Handyman (Fixed-Term Contract – 6 Months)

Pepper club Hotel is looking for a hands-on, reliable Handyman to join our Maintenance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. If you take pride in quality workmanship, enjoy solving practical problems, and thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment, this opportunity is for you.
Job Purpose
To ensure our hotel facilities, guest rooms, and public areas are consistently maintained to a high standard, contributing to exceptional guest experiences and smooth daily operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
Maintenance & Repairs
- Carry out a wide range of general maintenance tasks (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and finishing)
- Complete assigned work efficiently, safely, and to a high standard
- Provide clear feedback on completed tasks
Guest Rooms & Public Areas
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests
- Work closely with Housekeeping to ensure rooms are guest-ready
- Minimise repeat issues and guest inconvenience
Preventative Maintenance
- Assist with scheduled maintenance programmes
- Proactively identify and report faults
- Help maintain all equipment and fixtures in optimal condition
Health & Safety
- Follow all safety procedures and use PPE correctly
- Identify and report potential hazards
- Ensure tools and equipment are used and stored safely
Team Support
- Communicate effectively with the Maintenance team
- Keep accurate maintenance records
- Be flexible and support operational needs, including shifts and weekends
What We’re Looking For
- Matric Certificate
- 2–3 years’ experience in maintenance or a similar role
- Experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is an advantage
Your Skills
- Solid all-round maintenance ability (electrical, plumbing, carpentry)
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Good understanding of preventative maintenance practices
- Comfortable using tools and maintenance equipment safely
