ABOUT THE ROLE

The Operational Head is a group-level role responsible for strengthening the systems, structures, reporting discipline and financial alignment that support Mondia Health’s multi-site mental health services.

The role focuses on creating clear ways of working across the group, improving operational and financial visibility, and building the controls, processes and metrics needed for consistent, high-quality performance.

This role works closely with the CEO, Executive team and Facility Managers to improve systems, strengthen accountability, solve operational challenges and support better decision-making across the organisation. It supports and enables teams.

• Works closely with the Executive team and with the Facility Managers reporting directly to you

Core responsibilities

• Turn strategic goals into practical systems, workflows, metrics and reporting structures across facilities and services.
• Improve and standardise operational processes, policies and systems where needed, while allowing appropriate flexibility for local realities.
• Strengthen budgeting, forecasting, controls and reporting so that operational and financial management work together more effectively.
• Develop and maintain clear KPIs, dashboards and executive reporting that support timely and informed decision-making and accountability.
• Support governance, compliance, risk management and audit readiness through stronger systems, visibility and control.
• Help managers solve operational problems, work more consistently, and build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Support function of the role

• improving the quality of reporting and visibility across the group
• aligning operational and financial information for better decision-making
• enabling managers with tools, systems and practical support
• strengthening coordination and follow-through across functions and facilities

Education, experience and functional learnings

• NQF Level 8 qualification in Operations Management, Healthcare Management, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• Significant leadership experience in a multi-site private healthcare environment; experience in mental health, rehabilitation or other complex care services will be advantageous.
• Proven experience in designing, improving and implementing systems, processes, controls and reporting structures across operations and support functions.
• Strong understanding of the South African private healthcare environment, including operational delivery, funding, compliance, utilisation and performance management.
• Demonstrated ability to use budgets, dashboards, management reporting and operational data to support decision-making and improve performance.
• Experience supporting managers and teams through change, systems improvement and practical performance structures.
