The Opportunity: 

The Group Finance Manager is responsible for the end-to-end financial control, reporting, and operational finance delivery across the Crestcare group of hospitals. The role leads the standardisation and optimisation of financial processes across all Crestcare entities, manages two Regional Financial Managers, and provides accurate, timely financial insight to executive leadership.

Outcomes of the role 

 

  • Accurate and Timely Financial Reporting: Ensure consolidated group financial statements are prepared accurately and delivered within 10 business days after month-end.

  • Analytical Performance Review: Analytical review of group EBITDA with insightful report on variances.

  • Working Capital Optimisation: Collaborate with the Group Collections manager and the Group Pharmacy manager to reduce debtor’s days and stock holding days.

  • Audit and Compliance Excellence: Achieve zero material audit findings at group level and ensure all audit actions are resolved within agreed timelines.

  • Standardisation of Financial Practices: Implement a standardised chart of accounts, financial policies, and month-end reporting pack across all hospitals within 6 months.

  • Payroll Accuracy and Compliance: Ensure 100% accurate and compliant payroll and benefits processing, maintaining an error rate of less than 0.5%.

  • Finance Team Capability and Retention: Develop Regional Financial Managers to achieve performance ratings above 85% while maintaining low attrition within the finance team.

  • Enhanced Management Reporting: Deliver improved financial reports and dashboards that support effective decision-making by Hospital Managers and the Executive Committee.

Minimum qualifications: 

 

  • CA(SA) or equivalent professional accounting qualification strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (postgraduate qualification advantageous)
  • 10+ years’ progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in senior multi-site or group financial leadership (healthcare experience strongly preferred)
  • Experience with hospital finance, group consolidation, and working capital management.
  • Proven experience implementing / managing ERP or hospital financial systems and financial reporting automation.
  • Hands-on experience with audits (internal & external), tax, and regulatory compliance in South Africa.
  • Demonstrated competency in preparing investor reporting packs.
