Introduction
The Facilities Management Team is looking for a general worker that will assist the team with ad-hoc maintenance tasks as allocated by the Plumber.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid Code 08 vehicle driver’s license
- At least 2 years’ plumbing and maintenance experience
- Valid matric certificate (Grade 12)
- Trade Test (advantage)
- Facilities and maintenance experience (advantage)
- Basic knowledge about Facility Management and building maintenance
- Knowledge of Health and Safety
- Computer literacy (Outlook/Word/Excel)

Job Specification
The successful candidate will be responsible for (not limited to):
– Assist with ad-hoc projects as allocated by the plumber
– Provide maintenance support on request
– Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in commercial and residential structures
– Respond to, diagnose, and resolve plumbing & gas emergencies
– General maintenance
– Repair leaks, replace geyser valves, repair toilet seats, flush units and unblock sewage and drains
– Perform routine inspections of plumbing, drainage & gas systems
– Inspections of meter readings on gas and hot water systems at Ascend, MME and Shopping on Ridgeway
– Inspection of all buildings, weekly basis
– Investigate, report and repair high water usage across all estates
– Removal of illegal advertising boards around the estate
– Management of stock on hand (paint, tools, etc.)
– Completion of Job Cards
– Applies health and safety procedures
