Role Description:
The General Office Administrator is responsible for ensuring the efficient
day-to-day administration of the company by coordinating office
operations, maintaining records, supporting management and project
teams, managing correspondence, and assisting with financial and
procurement administration. The role serves as the central point of
communication between clients, suppliers, employees, and
management while ensuring that all administrative processes are
carried out professionally and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Strong Office Administration and Administrative Assistance skills, with experience managing calendars, filing, and general office processes.
- Ability to operate and coordinate basic Office Equipment such as printers, scanners, copiers, and telephones.
- Effective Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication and professional email etiquette.
- Customer Service experience in handling inquiries, supporting visitors, and resolving basic issues in a polite and solution-focused manner.
- Proficiency with common office software (e.g., MS Office or Google Workspace) and basic data entry.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a busy environment.
- Ability to work on-site in Midrand, collaborate with diverse teams, and maintain confidentiality of company and client information.
- Previous experience in an administrative or office support role; experience in the construction or engineering sector is an advantage.
- Relevant certification, diploma, or coursework in Office Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Office Administration
• Manage the daily operations of the office.
• Receive and direct telephone calls, emails, and visitors
professionally.
• Maintain office filing systems, both physical and electronic.
• Assisting management with reporting and compliance
documentation.
• Compiling tender documents and make sure they are submitted
on time
• Maintain confidential company records and documentation.
• Ensure office supplies and stationery are adequately stocked.
Project Administration
• Maintain project files and documentation.
