Position: General Manager (Manufacturing & Sales)
Job Description
An established business in the sports apparel industry is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee operational activities and support the continued growth of the brand. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing environment while also playing a key role in expanding sales through retail partnerships.
This role reports directly to the Managing Director and will act as the second-in-command (2IC) within the business.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operations of the manufacturing facility
, ensuring production efficiency, quality standards, and delivery timelines are met. -
Manage production planning, operational processes, and staff within the manufacturing environment.

Support the Managing Director in implementing operational strategies and business growth initiatives

Drive sales and brand growth by developing relationships with retail stores and distribution partners.

Identify new market opportunities and potential retail partners

Monitor stock levels, production output, and operational performance
. -
Ensure product quality and brand standards are consistently maintained.

Provide operational reporting and performance updates to senior management.
Requirements

Proven experience in a General Management, Operations Management, or similar leadership role

Experience with in apparel, textile, retail, or manufacturing environments
. -
Strong sales and relationship management experience
, particularly dealing with retail partners or distributors. -
Experience managing teams and operational processes
. -
Strong leadership, organisational, and commercial skills
. -
Ability to work closely with executive leadership and take ownership of day-to-day operational management
.

Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across all functions. Develop and implement strategic plans that align with the brand’s growth objectives. Oversee supply chain management and logistics to optimize product delivery. Strategic Planning and Execution:
Collaborate with executive leadership to set and achieve organizational goals. Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational improvements. Analyze market trends and financial data to provide actionable insights. Team Development and Management:
Lead and mentor a team, fostering a culture of performance and development. Work alongside sales, marketing, and product development to enhance operational processes and customer satisfaction. Innovation and Improvement:
Identify and implement best practices for financial and operational efficiency. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across departments to support growth.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Proven experience in financial management and operational leadership. Strong strategic planning and execution skills. A passion for sports and an understanding of the sportswear market. Excellent communication and team management abilities.
