Core Purpose

The General Manager is responsible for the overall strategic direction, operational excellence, and financial performance of the company. You will lead a complex supply chain—from raw material procurement and batching plant operations to fleet management and on-site delivery—ensuring that the company meets stringent quality standards while maximizing profitability and market share.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Growth: Develop and execute long-term business plans to expand market presence.
  • Operational Oversight: Direct and manage the operations of 12 concrete plants strategically located across Benghazi.
  • Oversee the total production output, ensuring the capability to meet the estimated monthly demand of 120,000 cubic meters (MC) .
  • Ensure seamless coordination between plants and ongoing construction projects to guarantee timely delivery and supply continuity.
  • Quality & Compliance: Oversee adherence to ASTM, ACI, or BS standards. Ensure the Technical Department is innovating with mix designs (e.g., low-carbon concrete, self-healing mixes).
  • Financial Stewardship: Take full P&L responsibility. Manage costs related to fluctuating raw materials (cement, aggregates, admixtures) and fuel.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Required in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration.
  • Proven Track Record: 15+ years of experience in the construction materials sector, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role (GM, COO, or CEO).
  • Concrete Technology: Deep understanding of mix designs, additives, and the chemistry of hydration.
  • Logistics & Fleet Management: Expertise in GIS/GPS dispatch systems and the logistical challenges of delivering a "timed" product.
  • Financial Literacy: Ability to manage complex Capex (capital expenditure) for new plants and truck fleets.
