Responsibilities:-
- Establish and manage the control system, procedures, and accounting forms related to the recording of fixed assets.
- Provide recommendations to management regarding any updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets.
- Assign unique identification numbers (asset tags) to fixed assets.
- Record fixed asset acquisitions and disposals in the accounting system.
- Monitor the capitalization of project costs to fixed asset accounts and close these accounts upon completion of the related projects.
- Perform reconciliation between the Fixed Assets Subledger and the Fixed Assets control account in the General Ledger.
- Ensure the preparation, accuracy, and completeness of the Fixed Assets Register.
- Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets in accordance with accounting policies.
- Conduct physical inventory (asset verification) of fixed assets.
- Perform fixed asset analyses as required by management.
- Assist in performing periodic impairment assessments for fixed assets.
- Track company expenditures on fixed assets within the approved capital budget and management authorization limits.
- Conduct additional fixed asset analyses as requested by management and hold regular meetings with department heads to follow up on work progress.
- Prepare periodic and ad-hoc reports on work progress and submit them to the department manager.
Requirements:-
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce – Major in Accounting
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar accounting or finance role.
