The Casterbridge Music Development Academy (CMDA), founded in 2010, is a South African non-profit organization based in White River, Mpumalanga. The academy empowers youth in underprivileged peri-urban communities through after-school music training programs, offering skilled music instruction, access to instruments, and opportunities to perform and collaborate. Serving approximately 250 students weekly, the CMDA aims to provide a constructive alternative for young individuals in communities facing significant socioeconomic challenges. By cultivating music skills, self-confidence, and creative thinking, the academy envisions nurturing new generations of socially responsible and talented professionals. T
Role Description
The Fundraiser will play a key role in supporting the CMDA’s mission by securing necessary funding and resources. This role includes for example: developing donor outreach programs, contacting prospective donors, preparing grant proposals, fostering partnerships with stakeholders and organizing and executing fundraising campaigns, The Fundraiser will also maintain donor relations, track progress towards fundraising goals, and ensure that the academy's programs have sustainable support to make a meaningful impact in the community.
Qualifications
- Experience in fundraising, donor outreach, and grant proposal preparation.
- Excellent communication and public relations skills to build relationships with donors and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in tracking and analyzing data for fundraising effectiveness, reporting and financial planning.
- A demonstrated passion for community empowerment and the arts, along with an understanding of the challenges faced by underprivileged youth.
- Previous experience in the nonprofit or arts education sector is advantageous.
