Position Overview
Taku is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Fulfillment Specialist to support our growing e-commerce and retail operations. This role is responsible for accurately picking, packing, labeling, and preparing customer orders for shipment, with a focus on quality, accuracy, food safety, and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and able to handle frozen and refrigerated seafood products with care. This position plays an important role in making sure every Taku order arrives fresh, accurate, and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick and pack online, retail, and wholesale customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare frozen and shelf-stable seafood products for shipment using proper packaging materials, insulation, gel packs, and shipping procedures as needed.
- Print and apply shipping labels using Shopify, FedEx, or other shipping platforms.
- Verify order accuracy, product quality, weights, quantities, and packaging before shipment.
- Assist with inventory counts, product organization, restocking, and freezer/cooler rotation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized fulfillment and packing area.
- Follow food safety, cold-chain handling, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Communicate order issues, inventory concerns, shipping delays, or product shortages to the appropriate team member.
- Support seasonal order volume, gift box assembly, subscription orders, and special promotions.
- Assist with receiving, labeling, moving, or organizing products and shipping supplies.
- Provide backup support for retail, customer service, or general operations as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse, fulfillment, shipping, food handling, seafood, retail, or production experience preferred, but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining product quality and safety.
- Comfortable working around frozen seafood, coolers, freezers, and packing materials.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, bend, reach, and move for extended periods.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn order management and shipping systems.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and willingness to jump in where needed.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Shopify, FedEx Ship Manager, ShipStation, or similar shipping software.
- Food handling or seafood processing experience.
- Inventory, warehouse, or e-commerce fulfillment experience.
- Familiarity with cold-chain shipping or perishable product handling.
Work Environment
This position works in a seafood fulfillment and processing environment and may include time in refrigerated or freezer areas. The role requires regular lifting, standing, packing, and handling of frozen seafood products and shipping supplies.
