SUMMARY:
FRYER (KITCHEN STAFF)
Location: Sandton, Johannesburg
A busy and well-established food outlet in Sandton is looking for a skilled and reliable Fryer to join the kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and a strong understanding of fryer operations and food preparation standards.
POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 1–3 years’ experience working as a fryer or in a similar kitchen role
- Must be based in Sandton or surrounding areas
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate deep fryers and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare and cook food items according to standard recipes and portion guidelines.
- Monitor oil quality and temperature to ensure consistent cooking results and food quality.
- Ensure all fried items are cooked to the correct texture, colour, and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the fryer station at all times.
- Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as portioning, breading, and marinating.
- Manage stock levels of fryer-related items and notify management of shortages.
- Follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out) practices to ensure product freshness and reduce waste.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure timely preparation and service during busy periods.
- Dispose of used oil safely and maintain proper waste management practices.
- Assist with general kitchen duties, including cleaning and closing procedures.
