Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Front End Wheel Bucket Loader Operator to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will operate front-end wheel loaders to efficiently move materials around our quarry and gravel pit. Your expertise will help ensure smooth operations, safety, and productivity. Position is seasonal, typically ending by Thanksgiving.
Duties
- Operate front-end wheel loaders with precision to load and transport gravel, sand, and aggregate.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of equipment to ensure safety and proper functioning.
- Follow all safety protocols and construction site regulations to promote a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate material movement efficiently.
- Assist with crushing plant maintenance and housekeeping, such as shoveling spillages and greasing machinery.
- Assist with crushing plant repairs, such as splicing belts and changing screens
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating front-end wheel loaders in a construction or quarry environment.
- Ability to climb ladders, lift & carry heavy loads, and perform manual labor tasks.
- Ability to perform basic maintenance checks on heavy equipment and identify mechanical issues early.
Work Environment
- Work will primarily occur at a rock quarry and gravel pit.
- Work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, risk of electric shock, dust, explosives, the elements, and elevated noise levels.
