Context

timbuktoo Africa Innovation Foundation supports African founders to start, grow, and scale through programming, capital pathways, and a community of enrolled startups. The Foundation publishes regular founder spotlight features on its LinkedIn and Instagram channels to showcase enrolled startups, highlight founder stories, and build community visibility for the timbuktoo programme. These posts require consistent, well-researched written content that accurately represents each founder and their work.

Task description

We are looking for three online volunteer to support the production of written founder spotlight posts for the Foundation's social media channels. Each week, the online volunteer will be assigned one enrolled timbuktoo startup and will research and write one short-form founder spotlight post. Each spotlight will include: A 120–160 word written profile of the featured founder and their startup, drawn from publicly available sources and any background notes provided by the Foundation A short caption version (40–60 words) and carousel formatted for Instagram and LinkedIn. A additional online volunteer would source and edit video telling the founders story, including from any live stream, founder self-recorded videos and so on. The output of this assignment is 24 pieces of written content : 12 LinkedIn spotlight posts and 12 corresponding Instagram captions and Linked Carousels, delivered on a weekly rolling schedule across the 12-week period. The additional volunteers will focus on production on the videos of the founders bases on the research.

Strong English writing skills with experience producing short-form profiles, bios, or feature copy Ability to research individuals and organisations using publicly available sources Familiarity with LinkedIn and Instagram content formats Interest in African entrepreneurship, startups, or innovation ecosystems
