Food Safety Quality Assistant Jobs in Bangor, ME at BAFS, Inc
BAFS, Inc. is currently seeking applicants for the position of Quality Control Assistant at our frozen food production facility in Bangor, ME. The primary function is to support the Quality Assurance Department with daily document generation, reviews, inspections and other relevant tasked throughout all phases of the production process as related to food safety.
The Quality Control Assistant will be expected to complete the following daily tasks:
- Assist with generating and distributing daily worksheets, labels, etc
- Utilize Microsoft Office and other basic programs to complete tasks
- Pre-operational and operational inspection tasks
- Monitor cooking/chilling stages of process to ensure food safety
- Review and/or complete documentation of times and temperatures of food products
- Rotate product from the cooking area, to the cooling area, and to the storage area as it becomes available
- Assist production team with securing product and moving it to production area as needed
- Verify accuracy of labeling information
- Work on food production lines as needed
- Assist staff with inventory reconciliation of product in process
- Contributes to quality improvement methods, processes and initiatives through research and review of the effectiveness of existing processes. Assists in developing strategies for enhancing or further developing processes based upon findings.
- Other duties assigned as necessary
Requirements:
Employee personality & interaction a large factor for this position. Previous relevant food experience (HACCP) a plus. Candidates should be able to interact with other employees from all levels of the business while representing the Quality Assurance and Production Departments.
Shifts are from 7:00am-3:30pm, Mon-Fri.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Entry level position.
Candidate will remain on feet 90%-100% of work day.
Flexibility with schedule including ability to work occasional weekends and early evenings as required.
