Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Food Safety Officer based in Pietermaritzburg. The Food Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring strict adherence to food safety protocols, conducting hygiene audits, overseeing quality assurance processes, and implementing health and safety procedures. The role also includes maintaining compliance with relevant food safety standards and assisting in the development and application of food technology practices to enhance product quality.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Food Safety and Hygiene standards to ensure compliance with regulations and promote a clean working environment
- Solid knowledge of Food Technology and its application in maintaining high-quality production standards
- Proficiency in Health & Safety requirements and best practices to ensure a safe working environment
- Experience in Quality Assurance processes, including audits, monitoring, and reporting for continuous improvement
- Strong organizational and communication skills to effectively liaise between teams and regulatory bodies
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Food Technology, Food Safety, or a related field is preferred
- Previous experience in the food or beverage industry is an advantage
