Job Summary
The FMCG Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales performance, achieving revenue targets, and expanding market share within a fast-paced consumer goods environment. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen, capable of analysing market trends, identifying growth opportunities, and building long-term client relationships. The position involves leading and developing a high-performing sales team, managing key accounts, and collaborating with internal departments to align sales strategies with broader business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy & Business Development
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and growth targets.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer behaviour to inform strategy.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities to expand market share.
- Drive innovative sales initiatives and product positioning strategies.
- Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, manage, and motivate the sales team to deliver high performance.
- Set, monitor, and review sales targets, KPIs, and team performance metrics.
- Conduct regular training sessions to enhance sales capabilities and product knowledge.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and results-driven performance.
Client & Account Management
- Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Manage and grow existing client portfolios, with a focus on key accounts.
- Conduct regular key account reviews to identify growth opportunities and ensure client satisfaction.
- Partner with clients to understand business needs and provide tailored solutions.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Monitor, analyse, and report on sales performance, KPIs, and market data.
- Prepare accurate sales forecasts, budgets, and management reports.
- Use data-driven insights to refine sales strategies and improve outcomes.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment
- Collaborate with marketing, product development, and other departments to align sales strategies.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination across teams to support service delivery and customer retention.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Sales Manager role (preferably within FMCG).
- Proven ability to lead a team and consistently deliver against sales targets.
- Strong background in business development and key account management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical ability.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
- Relevant qualification in Sales, Marketing, Business, or a related field (advantageous)

Pay: R45 000,00 – R50 000,00 per month
