Position Summary
As a Floor Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and professional appearance of commercial facilities throughout Columbia, SC and surrounding areas. You will be responsible for performing specialized floor care services on a variety of flooring surfaces while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to GreenGuard’s high standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of tile, vinyl, hardwood, concrete, and carpeted flooring
- Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, strip, wax, buff, burnish, and polish floors as needed
- Perform carpet cleaning and extraction services using commercial equipment
- Operate and maintain floor care equipment, including buffers, burnishers, extractors, scrubbers, and vacuums
- Clean and maintain restroom, breakroom, and common area flooring
- Use cleaning chemicals and solutions safely and according to manufacturer guidelines
- Monitor floor conditions and report maintenance or repair concerns to management
- Maintain equipment and supplies in proper working condition
- Complete assignments within scheduled timeframes while maintaining quality standards
- Travel to multiple client locations throughout Columbia and surrounding areas
- Uphold GreenGuard’s standards of professionalism, safety, and customer service at all times
Qualifications
- Previous floor technician, janitorial, custodial, environmental services, or commercial cleaning experience preferred
- Experience with floor care techniques such as stripping, waxing, buffing, burnishing, sealing, and carpet extraction preferred
- Ability to operate commercial floor care equipment safely and effectively
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license required and ability to operate a company vehicle
- Reliable transportation required
- Ability to pass a background check and meet client site requirements
- Full-time open availability, including occasional nights and weekends as needed
- Ability to lift, bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods
