FIXED-TERM CREDITORS CLERK (CPT)

Job Advert Summary

An urgent opportunity exists for a Fixed-Term Creditors Clerk to join our Finance team as soon as possible for a 4-month fixed-term maternity contract whilst one of our employees are on maternity leave. As the Creditors Clerk you will be responsible for the accurate processing and reconciliation of all documents for payment within the Group.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Finance qualification
• 2 – 5 years’ experience within a similar position
• Have a solid and basic understanding of Accounts Payable
• Ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
• Previous ERP System experience for e.g. SAP/PASTEL/ACUMATICA
• Fully bilingual in English & Afrikaans
• Time management skills
• The ability to operate computerized accounting, spreadsheets and word-processing programs at a proficient level.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strict attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a high paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data.
• Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
• Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
• Maintain Vendor Master Accounts.
• Communicate with internal departments to resolve issues.
• Attend to all communication, e.g. calls and emails, in a professional and timeous manner.
• Perform ad-hoc duties / projects as assigned or as the job requires.
• Perform monthly Cash Flow Projections.
• Ensure that Suppliers are paid within terms.
• Attend monthly meetings with the Accountant.
