Relay Fire & Safety is growing — and we’re looking for experienced Fire Extinguisher & Suppression Field Technicians to join our Franklin Square, NY team.
If you have experience servicing fire extinguishers, kitchen suppression systems, restaurant systems, clean agent systems, or special hazards systems, we want to talk to you.
This is not an “entry-level tag changer” role. We’re looking for skilled technicians who can work independently, troubleshoot systems in the field, communicate professionally with customers, and take pride in protecting lives and property.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Inspecting, servicing, repairing, and maintaining portable fire extinguishers
- Servicing kitchen suppression systems including:
- Ansul R-102
- Pyro-Chem
- Amerex KP
- Range Guard
- Working on clean agent and special hazard systems including:
- FM-200
- Novec 1230
- CO2 systems
- Dry chemical systems
- Performing hydrostatic testing and cylinder maintenance
- Identifying deficiencies and code compliance issues
- Completing electronic service documentation and inspection reports
- Communicating findings and recommendations with customers
- Maintaining compliance with:
- NFPA 10
- NFPA 17
- NFPA 17A
- UL 300
- DOT regulations
- FDNY/local code requirements
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of fire extinguisher and/or suppression system experience preferred
- Experience with kitchen suppression systems strongly preferred
- Nassau County Fire Suppression License highly preferred
- FDNY Certificates of Fitness such as S-93, S-95, or S-96 preferred
- Hydrostatic testing certification preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently in the field
- Professional communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
