Job Description

  • Machine Operation
  • Check the production plan for shift.
  • Conduct and document quality and safety checks during pre-start up.
  • Check chocolate availability.
  • Collect centre to the Finn Coating section.
  • Place Centre inside the Finn coater.
  • Start the Finn coater conveyor.
  • Open and close chocolate valves according to standard repeatedly to get the standard size as per specifications.
  • Release and close the air pressure from the Finn coater machine.
  • Start the machine to ensure product attains smooth finish according to specification.
  • Place products on a tray for next stage in the production process.
  • Place coated centre inside than pan and ensure that raw materials are mixed separately in a bucket.
  • Stop the machine after three minutes; ensure mixture in the pan is dry.
  • Release the air pressure from the panning machine.
  • Close the air pressure valve after four minutes.
  • Release air pressure from the machine and remove the product from the pan
  • Place the product on a stand/trolley.
  • Place colours into pans (five/ten pans) and start the panning machine.
  • Stop the machine and add raw materials to ensure to smooth finish to product.
  • Start the machine to ensure product attains smooth finish according to specification.
  • Start the machine and add raw material (powder/polishing agent) to the pan.
  • Add additional raw materials at intervals of 15 minutes to the pan.
  • Remove the sweets from pan and place into buckets.
  • Ensure that all colours are mixed and ensure correct weight according to product specification.
  • Weigh the products at the end of each stage.
  • Contact Production Supervisor in the event of a breakdown or mechanical failure.
  • Quality
  • Ensure alignment of all work process to the required quality standards.
  • Proactively identify continual improvement opportunities.
  • Action agreed quality initiatives.
  • Implement corrective actions identified within specified time.
  • Health and Safety
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety rules and standards.
  • Wear the required PPE all the time.
  • Ensure the right safety equipment is available and use it in a safe and correct manner.
  • Accountable for all safety equipment issued.
  • Report all safety hazards, accidents and incidents to relevant parties.
  • Ensure work area is clean at the start of and the end of shift.

4:. Communication

  • Participate actively and constructively in meetings.
  • Proactively provide input to the improvement or resolution of problem areas identified.
  • Understand and live the values of the organization.

Qualification Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Basic literacy and numeracy
  • N3 – N6 (Mechanical and/or Electrical) – Desirable

Experience Requirements

  • 2-year Experience in the same roles/positions – Essential
  • FMCG/Production experience – 2-3 Years – Essential
