Finance Controller / Senior Finance Administrator

Role Overview

A well-established and growing business is seeking a Finance Controller / Senior Finance Administrator to take responsibility for financial administration, with a strong focus on debtors management, cash flow control, and process automation.

This is a hands-on operational role suited to someone who enjoys building efficient financial processes, maintaining strong collection discipline, and improving systems through automation and reporting tools.

Key Responsibilities

Debtors & Cash Flow Management

  • Manage the full accounts receivable function
  • Maintain strong debt collection procedures and credit control
  • Monitor and report on debtor ageing and debtor days (DSO)
  • Liaise with internal teams to resolve payment delays and account queries
  • Produce weekly debtor and cash flow reports for management

Systems & Process Automation

  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate financial processes
  • Implement automated debtor reminder and collection systems
  • Improve reporting through automated dashboards and financial tools
  • Ensure financial systems support accurate and efficient data capture

Financial Administration

  • Oversee financial administration and internal controls
  • Manage customer credit limits and credit approvals
  • Ensure accurate reconciliations across debtors and cash accounts
  • Assist with month-end financial processes

Operational Support

  • Work closely with sales and operations teams to support financial discipline
  • Assist with inventory reconciliation and reporting where required
  • Maintain strong financial governance and compliance with internal processes

Key Performance Indicators

  • Debtor days (DSO)
  • Cash collection efficiency
  • Accuracy and reliability of financial reporting
  • Implementation of automated finance processes
  • Reduction in overdue debt

Requirements

  • Strong experience in accounts receivable and credit control
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems knowledge
  • Experience improving processes, automation, or financial systems
  • High level of attention to detail and organisational ability
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with sales and operational teams

Advantageous Experience

  • FMCG, wholesale, or distribution environments
  • High transaction-volume finance environments
  • Experience with ERP system implementation or optimisation

Remuneration
