Key Job Responsibilities:
■ To design and implement a costing structure for all new project proposals for the HTA Unit ■ To evaluate and update all bills of materials and standard operating costs for each project and for each project proposal ■ To establish, maintain and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures in accordance with PFMA requirements and relevant accounting principles ■ To apply over-head cost as required by Generally Accepted Accounting Practice ■ To monitor grant funds to ensure that funds are spent appropriately ■ To liaise with Principal Investigator and sponsor of project, implementation and evaluation of programs to ensure that all aspects of the program are according to key indicators ■ To liaise with administrative, technical and financial staff to ensure compliance and link expenditure to program activities ■ To maintain manual and electronic document filing systems as required for document control and audit purposes ■ To monitor expenditure patterns and budget control, identification and reporting of variances and exceptions ■ To assist laboratory, business and executive managers to prepare and manage their annual budgets to ensure compliance with GAAP and PFMA requirements
Minimum requirements & key competencies:
■ Three (3) year Diploma / Degree in Accounting (NQF Level 6) ■ Three (3) to Five (5) years costing experience.■ Finance, accounting and budget procedures ■ Financial reporting ■ General business processes ■ Knowledge of health / medical industry ■ Grant processes and procedures ■ Extensive knowledge of relevant Oracle modules ■ Computer literacy ■ Analytical skills. ■ Attention to detail ■ Well-developed reporting.
