We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Financial Manager to lead our finance function and play a key role in supporting the continued growth of the business.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the company's day-to-day financial operations while ensuring strong financial controls, accurate reporting and compliance with statutory requirements.
This role requires a proactive leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is comfortable managing both strategic financial responsibilities and day-to-day finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full finance function including debtors, creditors, banking and cash flow.
- Prepare and authorise supplier, salary and wage payments.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all reconciliations are completed.
- Manage monthly and year-end financial reporting.
- Oversee payroll, PAYE, UIF, SDL, pension and statutory submissions.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure ongoing SARS compliance.
- Manage fixed assets, depreciation schedules and insurance records.
- Liaise with auditors and prepare documentation for annual audits.
- Monitor customer accounts and supplier reconciliations.
- Manage foreign currency transactions and import/export financial documentation.
- Prepare journals, balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations.
- Assist with BBBEE documentation and other financial compliance requirements.
- Support the Managing Director with financial analysis and business decision-making.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
- Matric with Mathematics.
- Relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Financial Management or Senior Accounting role.
- Manufacturing industry experience will be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of payroll, VAT, taxation and financial reporting.
- Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
