Job Function
DP World SSA is looking to attract, grow and retain top young talent to build future leaders and specialists in our organisation through our Grow Programme.
Key Performance Areas:
- Custodian for accurately framing entries and ensuring that the correct tariff classifications are allocated to commodities.
- Understand the nature of the commodity and the destination to determine the type of tariff to be applied.
- Thoroughly audit all commodity invoices and all other supporting documents against customs and any other statutory body requirements to ensure that the relevant tariffs are applied.
- Prepare and submit import and export declarations and coordinate with relevant regulatory authorities and Operations Controllers to ensure strict adherence and timeous submission.
- Register customs declarations on the relevant customs system such as Ayscuda.
- Maintain organized tracking lists of customs transactions and arrange duty payments.
- Offer guidance to the Operations Controller on potential risks prior to commodity declarations and co-create solutions for potential challenges
- Act as the subject matter expert to customers on together with the Operations Controller pertaining to customs related queries
- Responsible for the management and leadership of an engaged team, promoting collaboration and ensuring that each is developed and evaluated against goals and objectives which are aligned,
- specific, measurable, attainable yet challenging, realistic and time bound.
- Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating
- positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest
- level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct
- and Ethics policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s of Accounting degree/University degree
- At least a 65% pass mark
Experience and Skills Required:
- No previous formal work experience
