SUMMARY:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Fibre Optic Splicer with strong leadership capabilities to manage field technicians and oversee fibre network installations, maintenance, testing, and fault resolution.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform fibre splicing on dome joints and termination panels
- Conduct OTDR, OLTS, and ATP testing
- Build links and perform fibre fault finding and repairs
- Install and splice termination boxes and ONTs
- Ensure successful customer activations on-site
- Generate and upload daily test results and reports
- Complete as-built reports, audits, and job documentation
- Upload site updates and job information to company systems
- Submit before and after photos for completed work
- Supervise fibre technicians and splicing teams in the field
- Conduct quality inspections and network audits
- Report faults, damages, and safety concerns promptly
- Liaise with head office, planning, and operations teams
- Assist with planning and operational coordination
- Attend to after-hours and weekend fibre breaks when required
- Participate in standby schedules and emergency callouts
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards and procedures
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and materials
- Provide professional client service and communication
- Work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- Minimum 5+ years’ fibre optic splicing experience
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience required
- Strong OTDR and OLTS testing knowledge
- Experience with fibre fault finding and restoration
- Ability to manage and oversee multiple technicians
- Valid driver’s license required
- Own reliable vehicle for daily travel to and from the office
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Willingness to work after hours and standby when required
- Experience with Centricity or similar reporting systems advantageous
