Duties
- Perform fiber optic splicing using fusion and mechanical splicing techniques to ensure optimal signal quality and network reliability
- Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, lifts, and other construction machinery safely and efficiently during installation and maintenance tasks
- Install, route, and connect fiber cables in various environments including underground, aerial, and inside buildings following schematics and technical specifications
- Conduct cable testing, troubleshooting, and repairs to maintain high standards of network performance across LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), Ethernet, and telephony systems
- Use hand tools, power tools, and low voltage electrical experience to prepare cable routes, secure connections, and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Climb poles or structures as needed for aerial installations or repairs while adhering to safety protocols for climbing activities
- Collaborate with team members on IT infrastructure projects involving cabling, network infrastructure, schematics interpretation, and electrical systems
Experience
- Proven experience in fiber splicing within a telecommunication or similar field service environment
- Strong background in heavy equipment operation including bucket trucks and construction machinery
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts such as LAN, Ethernet, WAN, low voltage wiring, and network infrastructure components
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, electrical wiring, schematics reading, and low voltage electrical systems
- Knowledge of telecommunication systems including telephony setup and maintenance
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards for climbing and construction activities
- Previous experience in electrical work or construction projects involving fiber optics or IT infrastructure is highly desirable
