a Trailer manufacturing and repair company based in Durban, seeks a driven, hands-on and results-focused Factory Manager to lead its manufacturing and repair teams in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines. The successful candidate will oversee daily factory operations, production planning, quality control, staff management and operational efficiency, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and oversee all factory and production activities
- Ensure production schedules are met according to project deadlines
- Coordinate workflow between Production, Supervisors, Procurement and repair teams
- Drive productivity, efficiency and continuous improvement within the factory
- Monitor and control manufacturing costs, waste and material usage (costings & supply chain)
- Ensure quality control processes and standards are maintained throughout production
- Manage factory staff performance, discipline, training and development
- Ensure accurate interpretation of technical drawings and production requirements
- Oversee material planning and ordering for projects
- Ensure machinery, equipment and factory maintenance is managed effectively
- Maintain safe working practices and compliance within the factory environment
- Troubleshoot production challenges and implement practical solutions quickly
- Assist in implementing systems and processes to improve operational performance
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Diploma or Degree in Production Management, Operations Management or similar (advantageous)
- 8–10 years’ experience in a Factory or Production Management role
- Strong understanding of production planning and manufacturing processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Experience with quality control systems and procedures
- Valid driver’s licence
- Bilingual
- South African citizen

Pay: R35 000,00 – R40 000,00 per month
