The Ocean House is hiring an experienced bartender for the summer season, with the possibility of full-season employment for the right candidate.
We are looking for a true professional: someone who can move quickly, stay organized, communicate well, and produce a high volume of consistent drinks in a fast-paced, high-end restaurant environment.
This is not a slow, overly precious cocktail-lab position. The priority is service power. We need someone who knows how to work clean, move with purpose, and slang the hell out of drinks while still maintaining the polish and hospitality expected at The Ocean House.
The ideal candidate is flexible, sharp, guest-aware, and willing to be part of a team. This role may include service bar volume, guest-facing bar service, support for servers, prep, restocking, cleaning, and the physical work that comes with a serious restaurant bar program.
We are looking for someone with:
- Proven bartending experience in a fast-paced restaurant or high-volume bar
- Strong dexterity, speed, and accuracy
- Ability to stay calm and productive under pressure
- Excellent guest communication skills
- Clean, organized station habits
- Willingness to support the team wherever needed
- Ability to be on your feet for long shifts, bend, lift, carry, restock, and work at a demanding pace
- Professional attitude and reliable availability through the summer
Fine dining, craft cocktail, wine, or management experience is welcome, but not required. The most important thing is that you know how to execute at volume with consistency, urgency, and hospitality.
Position Details
Job Type: Full-time summer position, with possibility for full-season employment
Pay: Hourly wage plus tips
Schedule: Nights, weekends, and peak-season availability required
