Executive Housekeeper | Luxury Hotel | Cape Town

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Executive Housekeeper for a luxury hotel in Cape Town. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong leader to oversee housekeeping and laundry operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction within a high-end hospitality environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the housekeeping department, leading a dedicated team, and maintaining exceptional operational standards across all areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all housekeeping and onsite laundry operations within the property
  • Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation are maintained
  • Lead, train, and motivate the housekeeping team to deliver exceptional service
  • Manage daily operations, staffing, and departmental efficiency
  • Implement and maintain standard operating procedures and quality controls
  • Monitor and manage stock levels, linen, and cleaning supplies
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations
  • Maintain and manage rooms management systems and reporting processes
  • Handle guest requests and complaints professionally and efficiently
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure standards are consistently met
  • Identify training needs and support staff development
  • Drive continuous improvement in service levels and operational standards
  • Matric or Grade 12 with a tertiary qualification in Housekeeping Management
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in housekeeping and onsite laundry management in a large, multi-use facility
  • At least 2 years’ supervisory experience in a similar role
  • Proficiency in general office computer applications
  • Working knowledge of rooms management systems
  • Experience with Protel or Opera property management systems advantageous
  • Advanced knowledge of housekeeping and laundry procedures
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and time management skills
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, and administrative abilities
  • Ability to motivate and positively influence a team
  • Service-driven with a positive and proactive attitude
