Job Summary
TEEF NAJD GROUP is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Estimation Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, tender submissions, quantity take-offs, and commercial evaluations for construction projects. The role requires strong technical and commercial knowledge to support the company's bidding and project acquisition efforts while ensuring competitive and profitable proposals.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and project requirements.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for construction projects.
- Analyze labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare comprehensive technical and commercial tender submissions.
- Conduct cost comparisons and value engineering studies to optimize project costs.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams during the bidding process.
- Identify project risks and opportunities and incorporate them into estimates.
- Assist in budget preparation and project cost planning.
- Maintain an updated database of material prices, subcontractor rates, and market trends.
- Participate in tender clarification meetings and negotiations when required.
- Prepare estimation reports and recommendations for management review.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–7 years of experience in estimation, tendering, or cost engineering within construction or contracting companies.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and project execution processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, and tender preparation.
- Proficiency in:
- Microsoft Excel (Advanced Level)
- AutoCAD
- Planswift, CostX, or similar estimation software (preferred)
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good command of English, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in building, infrastructure, fit-out, stone, marble, façade, or finishing projects.
- Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and commercial terms.
- Previous experience working on projects in the Gulf region, particularly Saudi Arabia, is an advantage.
