Enrolled Nursing Assistant Jobs in Bellville at Task Applied Science

The purpose of the role is to provide patient care, monitoring and support to the participants/patients. The role involves assisting in basic observations and nursing care, supporting participant safety and comfort, and working within the scope of practice under the supervision of a registered nurse.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Patient Care, Monitoring and Assistance:

· Providing high-quality, friendly, and professional service aligned with patient care standards

· Assisting in routine nursing care tasks as per scope of practice, including but not limited to obtaining and recording of vital signs and reporting related abnormalities

· Supporting participants with mobility, comfort measures, and basic care needs during the night shift

· Filing participant results into their respective participant files

· Administering participant meals and maintaining cleanliness of cutlery and dining areas

· Conducting regular checks on study participants, observing for any signs that may be indicative of adverse reactions or any changes in their condition

· Handling basic patient queries related to services and escalate issues as necessary

· Maintaining patient confidentiality, dignity and safety at all times in compliance with POPIA and GCP guidelines

Emergency Response:

· Promptly escalating any concerning observations to the supervising nurse or investigator

· Ensuring the efficient functioning of equipment or reporting of any equipment failure that could pose a potential risk to patients or staff

· Actively maintain stock management processes

Documentation:

· Maintaining accurate and timely records of observations, patient interactions, and any incidents

Infection Control & Compliance:

· Ensuring that the disposal of medical waste, human tissue and medicine is in accordance with legislation

Documentation/Administration:

· Maintaining accurate and timely records of observations, patient interactions, and any incidents

· Following clinical protocols, infection prevention measures, and GCP guidelines

· Performing any other reasonable instruction as may be required from time to time

KEY TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

· Matric with relevant nursing certification/ Nurse companion/ Care giver

· Registration with SANC as an Enrolled Nursing Assistant

· Two years’ experience in a nursing role, with clinical or research experience (Advantageous)

· Valid ICH GCP certificate will be advantageous.

· Strong administrative skills with computer literacy in MS Word, Excel and Outlook

· Ability to work night shifts and flexibility to assist at other TASK sites when required (TASK Clinical Research Centre Primary Site).

WORKING CONDITIONS

· Position may require occasional travel between different sites.

· Flexibility in working hours may be necessary to accommodate study related and participant requirements.

· Position involves interaction with different groups – healthy volunteers, and/or potentially infectious persons and requires wearing of personal protective gear as provided and where required.
