Clinical
Insertion of catheters
Attend to all the residents wound dressings needs
Ensure all residents vital signs are observed as required etc
Ensure that individual progress is documented comprehensively per shift
Participate in the monitoring of clinical care, e.g. wound status, skin integrity, blood sugar levels, pain, falls, mobility, weight management, continence, dietary and hydration needs, social stimulation and spiritual support
Infection control
Ensure care workers use their Personal Protective Equipment
Participate in the homes infection control strategies
Health and safety
Participate in fire drills as required
Monitor the use of correct use of manual handling techniques to ensure safety of residents and staff.
Operational
Promote and participate in the implementation of policies, procedures and related documentation.
Manage stock and resources according to need in a cost effective and efficient manner
Assist in the development of Quality improvement initiatives
Ensure Accidents / Incidents to any resident, staff member or volunteer are treated appropriately, immediately and recorded (included any immediate action taken regarding the event)
Communication
Participate in handover with oncoming staff to be aware latest of relevant information.
Seek information where appropriate from residents and family to ensure safe, appropriate care is provided.
Attend and provide input into staff and other meetings as required.
Work with staff to ensure care provision is consistent.
Ensure open disclosure-based communication with residents and families in relation to events of relevance to them.
General
Work effectively as part of a team and as an individual
Promote a high standard of personal hygiene and professional presentation
Maintain a commitment to professional development and excellence in service provision
Ensure duties are performed in accordance with job descriptions and support implementation of best practice.
Pay: R13 000,00 – R16 000,00 per month
