Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Algiers for English, Maths, and Science Pearson iPrimary Teachers. The role involves planning and delivering engaging Pearson iPrimary lessons aligned with both British and Algerian curriculum standards, using a variety of teaching strategies and resources. Teachers will assess learner progress, maintain accurate records, provide regular feedback, and prepare reports to support academic development. Daily responsibilities include classroom management, differentiation for diverse learning needs, collaboration with colleagues, and communication with parents and guardians. The role also includes participation in staff meetings, professional development activities, and school events to contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture.
Qualifications
- Strong English Teaching skills, with experience delivering primary-level English curricula and supporting literacy development.
- Excellent Communication skills for clear instruction, collaboration with colleagues, and effective engagement with learners and families.
- Ability to use Translation skills where needed to support understanding between English and local languages.
- Customer Service mindset focused on responsiveness, empathy, and maintaining positive relationships with learners and guardians.
- Training skills, including the ability to mentor learners, support colleagues, and participate in or deliver professional development sessions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; specialization in English, Maths, Science, or primary education is highly beneficial.
- Experience with Pearson iPrimary or similar international curricula is preferred.
- Demonstrated classroom management abilities and familiarity with inclusive, learner-centered teaching practices.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of French and/or Arabic is an advantage.
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and to supporting diverse learners in a multicultural environment.
