Responsibilities:
Job Overview: Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems, machinery and equipment to ensure optimal plant performance and minimal downtime. The role requires strict adherence to safety standards, quality procedures, and operational requirements while supporting continuous production.
- Fitted fuse boxes, circuits and wiring systems and equipment.
- Inspected and tested fused boxes, circuits, wiring systems and equipment.
- Able to read and understand electrical schematics.
- Must possess solid electrical fault-finding capabilities.
- Able to install, commission, refurbish and improve unsupervised equipment.
- Performed planned maintenance on machinery and equipment, including site generators.
- Execute pneumatic repairs.
- Use, install and apply fault finding on programmable logical control circuits (PLC’s) & VSD’s.
- Assist and supervise on-site contractors during installations or repairs, ensuring compliance with all company standards or policies.
- Ensure that quality control standards/specifications are met during and after maintenance activities.
- Maintain good housekeeping and food safety standards in order to ensure AIB, FSSC and Safety compliance.
- Maintain all safety and quality standards through safe maintenance practices in order to avoid accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Become a GEHMS standard owner and ensure implementation and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Matric, plus a relevant Trade qualification (Trade Test Certificate), with a minimum of 5 years’ post‑qualification experience.
- Literate and numerate, with confidence in using Panel View computer screens.
- Working knowledge and understanding of multihead weighers and bottling equipment will be advantageous.
- Above‑average problem‑solving skills are essential.
- Must be able to work under pressure and work shifts as required.
