Job Title: Electrical Technician – Infrastructure Location: Cape Town (NEC XON)
Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle
Overview: NEC XON is seeking a hands-on Electrical Technician to support infrastructure maintenance and troubleshooting. This role involves site visits, fault finding, and resolving issues related to network infrastructure including switches and fibre, with some involvement in coordinating small projects.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform fault finding and troubleshooting on infrastructure equipment
- Install, maintain, and repair network components (switches, fibre, etc.)
- Attend to on-site service calls and technical issues
- Assist with basic project coordination and task tracking where required
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently and safely
- Provide basic reporting on faults, repairs, and site activities
Requirements:
- National Diploma or N6 in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Trade Test (Electrician)
- Experience with infrastructure, switches, and fibre
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle
- Willingness to travel to various sites
Preferred:
- Fibre optic or networking certifications (e.g. FOA, Network+, CCNA)
- Exposure to basic project management or coordination
