A challenging opportunity exists at Nampak Springs for an Artisan Electrical Trainee in the Technical department. The primary objective for this role is to provide electrical support service for the organisation to achieve its’ targets.To ensure equipment availability. This position will be reporting to the Electrical Superintendent . This position is graded as a Peromnes 12.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for Installations of electrical components according to standards.
- Receive works order and carry out within timeframes.
- Attend to daily breakdowns efficiently as they occur.
- Monitor hourly short interval control and attend to deviations.
- Walk the line daily, review the MOR book and liaise with the operator to determine any issues.
- Create a works order when required or report back to the electrician for escalation.
- Carry out scheduled maintenance according to plan.
- Ensure maintenance checks done to schedule and accurately recorded.
- Carry out daily checks (e.g., camera checks, light tester checks) ensuring good quality cans.
- Carry out electrical inspections/tests to ensure all in good order. Attend to any deviations and issues found.
- Utilise problem solving and 5Why model to address failures to ensure there are no repeats.
- Ensure optimum usage / repair and reuse of material resources.
- Carry out monthly checks on tools, ensuring all are in good order, clean and stored correctly.
- Ensure strict compliance with all statutory requirements & guidelines.
- Assist plant in obtaining and maintaining the highest rating for housekeeping and safety.
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
- Grade12 and Electrical Trade Certificate
- 3 years electrical experience
- Experience in an FMCG manufacturing is advantageous
- Maintenance, repair and asset Care knowledge
- Safety procedures
- Preventative maintenance
- Electrical system, power generation and blueprints knowledge
