Overview
As an EHS I (Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist), you will play a pivotal role in fostering a safe and compliant workplace. You’ll be at the forefront of implementing safety programs, ensuring adherence to regulations, and promoting a culture of health and safety across the organization. Your expertise will help protect our employees and the environment while driving continuous improvement in our EHS practices.
What you’ll do
- Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to align with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) regulations.
- Facilitate training sessions on first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), occupational health, and safety protocols for employees.
- Investigate incidents to determine root causes, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Manage workers’ compensation claims in accordance with workers’ compensation law, ensuring timely reporting and resolution.
- Collaborate with management to promote a proactive approach to safety through ongoing training and development initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
Basic qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong understanding of EHS regulations including OSHA standards and EPA guidelines.
- Proficiency in report writing to document findings clearly and effectively.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on EHS practices.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis techniques for incident investigation.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable.
