E-Waste Manager Jobs in Port Elizabeth at mertech marine
Purpose:
To oversee the collection, handling, and responsible disposal or recycling of electronic waste in compliance with environmental regulations and company sustainability goals. The role ensures safe processes, minimises environmental impact, and drives awareness of proper e-waste management practices.
Key duties:
- Develop and implement e-waste management strategies aligned with company sustainability goals.
- Ensure safe collection, storage, and transportation of electronic waste.
- Liaise with certified recyclers and disposal partners.
- Train staff on proper e-waste handling and compliance requirements.
- Monitor and report on e-waste volumes, costs, and compliance metrics.
- Drive continuous improvement in waste reduction and recycling initiatives.
Minimum requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12
- Relevant qualification in Environmental Management, Waste Management, or related field.
- Relevant experience in waste management, with specific exposure to electronic/e-waste handling.
- Valid driver’s licence.
Competencies:
- Strong understanding of e-waste legislation and compliance requirements.
- Ability to manage collection, storage and disposal/recycling processes.
- Identifies hazards and ensures safe handling of electronic components.
- Works with suppliers, recyclers, and internal teams to ensure responsible practices.
- Maintains accurate records for audits and compliance reporting.
- Promotes awareness and initiatives to reduce environmental impact.
