Introduction:
GMSL Group located outside Durbanville is looking for a Mechanical Draughtsman to join our team.
GMSL Group (Pty) Ltd started in 2018, based on a need in the fuel industry for a single turn-key solution to operational and asset – procurement, maintenance and training.
With more than 10 years’ experience in the transportation and fuel industry, we know the complexities and strain placed on the efficient control of assets in the field required by our clients to ensure you stay operational with the right product at the right time.
Responsibilities:
· To design, create and update detailed mechanical drawings to enable the workshop to manufacture parts and equipment to relevant standard and time frames
· Design and Model manufacturing jigs or equipment.
· Design of pressure vessels.
· Design and Model Road tankers and related equipment to local and international design standards.
· 2D- Vehicle layout and weight distribution calculations.
· Create engineering and manufacturing drawings and general arrangement drawings.
· Obtaining quotations and ordering of laser and bending profiles.
· Liaising with customers.
· Collect initial drawings, calculations and design ideas from Engineers and model design accordingly.
· Ensure completed designs meets clients and internal design specification.
· Compiling of tanker data books.
· Keeping abreast of new legislation and ensuring product compliance to applicable design codes and legislation.
The successful applicant shall have the following minimum qualifications:
· B. Eng (Mechanical) Degree or similar. Applicants with no degree but with draughting experience will also be considered.
· 3 years of relevant experience
· Self-motivated personality and able to work independently.
· Positive and problem-solving mentality.
· The ability to work under pressure and multi-tasking.
· Ability to work in a team.
· Quick learner.
· Have an interest in mechanical design and strength analyses.
· Have an interest in trucks and/or heavy transport equipment.
· Have 3-D modelling experience. Autodesk Inventor will be of a great advantage.
