Draughtsman

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The primary role of this position is to create models and drawings, according to Data Centre standards.

MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

Drawings and Models Creation:

• Develop detailed 2D Layouts & 3D models of Data Centres and all components using approved BIM tools (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD,) based on architectural, structural, and MEP designs.
• Revise drawings and layouts to accommodate changes and enhancements.
• Ensure that drawings are checked, approved and filed in accordance with company quality system.
• Ensure quality and safety standards are adhered to and integrated into design and procedures. All Drawings and Models to conform to TERACO standards and ISO 19650 best practice.
• Ensuring that any changes to As-builts post-handover follow the required BIM practices and are properly documented and tracked.

Coordination:

• Participate in consultations between internal teams and clients to resolve technical issues via the Teraco BIM/Hub/Ecosystem to maintain data integrity
• Sufficient knowledge of TERACO’s Common Data Environments (CDE), SharePoint and Autodesk Construction Cloud.

Documentation:

• Ensure Documents, Drawings, Models prescribe to the Teraco Naming Convention.
• Maintain model integrity, version control, and ensure compliance with BIM standards and protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Matric certificate
• 2+ years draughting working experience
• Accredited Multi-disciplinary Qualification – Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Architecture.
• Advance Microsoft Office skills
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit & AutoCAD – Minimum of 1 year Modelling experience
• Advanced knowledge of Parametric design principle
• Advanced knowledge of 2D and 3D packages
• Ability to interpret MEP and architectural drawings, with knowledge of all relevant components.
