Responsibilities
- Assist with the safe loading and unloading of cargo from ships, trucks, or containers using appropriate rigging techniques
- Operate and maintain dock equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and hoists with precision and safety awareness
- Conduct inspections of cargo for damage or discrepancies and report issues promptly
- Secure cargo using rigging tools and techniques to ensure stability during transit or storage
- Support mechanical tasks related to dock operations, including minor repairs or adjustments to equipment as needed
- Follow safety protocols diligently, including wearing protective gear and adhering to safety procedures at all times
- Maintain accurate records of cargo movements, inspections, and equipment usage for operational tracking
Skills
- Proven experience in rigging techniques for cargo handling and securing loads
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to dock equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and hoists
