Decofurn is a furniture retailer with 11 stores nationwide. Our unique warehouse/factory shop concept has been developed with 32 years of experience in the furniture industry. Our Group is a leading importer, manufacturer, and retailer of furniture and related products.

We are looking for a Dispatch Clerk to join our branch in Fourways.

As a Decofurn dispatch clerk, your primary responsibility shall be to oversee the accurate and efficient dispatch of purchased stock from our store to its given destination on a 6-day work week, providing essential support to the dispatch manager

Duties & Responsibilities

Dispatch Operation

  • Process daily delivery invoices and ensure timely dispatch by 1pm.
  • Update and maintain tracking systems like Google Sheets and Onfleet for real-time dispatch visibility.
  • Manage stock, ensuring accurate picking and loading, and report any damaged items.
  • Assist in route assignments for drivers and monitor adherence to deadlines.

Customer Service

  • Provide a friendly and professional experience for customers, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Use emotional intelligence to handle customer queries, concerns, and complaints effectively.
  • Ensure customer issues are addressed promptly, maintaining high satisfaction levels.

Delivery Co-ordination & Driver Support

  • Contact customers within 12-24 hours of receiving delivery instructions to confirm details.
  • Confirm deliveries a day in advance and resolve cancellations or changes.
  • Ensure drivers comply with SOPs, maintain professional hygiene, and resolve any delivery issues.
  • Track driver timekeeping and minimise absenteeism to ensure smooth delivery operations.

Online Orders & Store Collections

  • Ensure online orders are processed correctly, and clients are notified via SMS.
  • Confirm dispatch labels and oversee the accuracy of orders before collection.
  • Assist with customer collections, verifying items and ensuring orders are correctly handled.

Administrative Support

  • Prepare and submit weekly reports to the Collections Manager.
  • Handle telephone inquiries and assist with door duties when required.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure invoices are checked, signed, and dated.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • 1 + years dispatch experience
  • Customer Service
  • Computer Literate – Word, Excel, Outlook & Google Sheets
  • Attention to detail
  • Clear and well-spoken communication skills
